Job Description

Gerber Ciano Kelly Brady LLP is seeking an Associate Attorney in its Garden City, New York office. Candidate should have 2–5 years’ experience in construction defect and property damage litigation , including disputes under Administrative Code Section 3309 .

This position requires a high level of motivation, flexibility, initiative, and the ability to manage a litigation caseload from beginning to end. The ideal candidate should have experience in litigation matters, the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, strong and professional communication skills, and be friendly and outgoing. While the candidate will work primarily in the firm’s Garden City location, he or she will also interact and work on matters across the firm’s footprint. This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys who are looking to expand their career and work within a firm of highly responsive partners, associates, and legal support staff.

Responsibilities include:

• Ability to handle assigned caseload both independently and with supervision
• Drafting of pleadings, motions, discovery demands, etc.
• Performing extensive research
• Experience with depositions, court appearances, and motion practice is helpful but not required
• Maintaining an excellent relationship with clients, including complying with all client guidelines
• Ensuring all deadlines are met
• Accurately recording and maintaining billable hours

Required Skills/Qualifications:

• Exceptional writing, research, and analytical skills. The ideal candidate must take pride in delivering an error-free product.
• Admitted to practice in the State of New York (NJ, CT, and/or PA admission is a plus)
• 2–5 years’ litigation experience , including construction defect and property damage matters

Salary is commensurate with experience and skill set. The position includes a full benefits package, including health, life, short-term and long-term disability insurance, 401(k), flexible work options, and paid time off.

For New York City Applicants: Salary range is $35.00 - $70.00/hr. ($72,800.00 - $145,600.00), with potential eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus. The actual salary offered will be based on the candidate’s skills, experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Gerber Ciano Kelly Brady LLP is a multi-state employer, and this range may differ for positions based in other states.
