Walters Buildings, the premier family-owned post fame builder in the Midwest, is hiring a motivated , hardworking Professional Engineer to work at our corporate office in Allenton, Wisconsin.

Position Summary

Under the general direction of Engineering Manager, responsible for design, calculations, and code review for projects in multiple states.

Duties/Responsibilities:

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all‑inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

• Review project designs during the sales process and post-sale to ensure structural and code compliance in accordance with state and local regulations.
• Prepare engineering calculations and perform plan reviews in coordination with drafting technicians, construction estimators, and sales team to meet customer expectations.
• Successfully complete Walters Buildings Engineering training program and ongoing training to ensure understanding of the methods/techniques of Walters Buildings construction, engineering, drafting, and creation of construction plans.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to think critically and problem solve.

Working Environment and Physical Demands:

• Perform the majority work in an office setting.
• Occasional travel to project locations to work with the sales team in designing projects.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
• Structural emphasis preferred.
• PE or SE license required.
• Must be proficient in AutoCAD, Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Structural design software experience preferred.
