Utility Locator - Horizontal Directional Drilling

Our Client, specializes in underground telecommunications construction, is seeking an experience Utility Horizontal Directional Drilling Locator (HDD) to work with a team on a fiber optic drilling project in Northern Florida region
The qualified Horizontal Directional Drilling Locator will be a professional and dependable individual who is experienced with guiding and tracking the drill head during underground utility installation using horizontal directional drilling (HDD) techniques. The Locator will ensure the drill follows the planned path, avoiding existing utilities and obstacles, while maintaining safety and accuracy throughout the drilling process.
Responsibilities:
Working with Vermeer and unground Magnetics equipment, the HDD Driller will work directly with the HDD Locator for guidance during drilling operations.
· Using magnetic, radar and electrical equipment to locate lines
· Analyzing blueprints to determine where construction projects will take place
· Utilizing GPS or surveying equipment to pinpoint coordinates of lines
· Performing calculations to arrive at the depth of lines
· Preparing diagrams and sketches that show the location of lines
· Compiling gathered data and prepared images into professional reports
· Inspecting areas following the completion of renovations or new construction to check utility lines
· Participating in planning or inspection meetings to present findings
Qualifications:
·2+ years of Horizontal Drill experience required
· Practical working experience with underground construction for both conduit and fiber installation
· Ability to lift & carry up to 50lbs also repletely bend, squat, climb, kneel, push, and pull
· Must work outdoors in all kinds of weather and at all times of the day or night
· Able to perform work near power lines and electricity
· Valid driver's license with a clean driving record - Class A or B CDL highly preferred
· OSHA safety certifications and Operator qualifications a plus
· Must be willing to travel company provide daily per-diem
· High School Diploma or equivalent required
